But you've heard it a million times before - it goes by in the blink of an eye. All those details you can't get enough of soon become a distant memory that you can no longer remember. My desire is to photograph all the moments that make up your first days with your baby so those memories are never lost upon you.

Our time together will be spent doing some of your family's favorite things - snuggling your loved ones, playing games with your children, and being who you are together naturally. I will get to know your family before our session to be sure I capture what is most important to you.

If there is anything we all wish we had more of it would be time, am I right mama? Our to-do lists are growing just as fast as our babies are and time to pause & preserve the fleeting days seems impossible. I will provide you an experience where your to-do list just says "show up".

Not every newborn session is going to be as still as the first time you brought your first baby home, but that's no reason not to have newborn photos. They may look a little different and there may be a little (or a lot) more noise, but this is your new normal and I want to capture it exactly as it is.

Many of Courtney Houk Photography's clients are Collective Members meaning there are months in advance that may already be booked out. It is never too early to reach out to book your session - I promise I'm a really good secret keeper and no one will know that you are expecting!
How early should I reach out to book my newborn session?
Thinking about outfits for your family is just as hard as finding an actual photographer. Trust me, I get it. This is why I have a curated client closet that is full of dresses for mama and clothes for younger children. As far as baby goes, they don't actually need an outfit - just a swaddle and a bow if it's a girl!
I have no idea what to wear for a newborn session?
I approach all of my sessions the same - in the most authentic way to preserve your memories. I want your photos to be more than a picture, but to evoke feelings. I have a lifestyle approach to my sessions where I let the real, organic moments unfold in front of me and I capture exactly that.
