This session was truly one of my favorites. If I could talk every client into Nashville outdoor newborn photos (weather permitting of course!) I absolutely would. When two of God’s most beautiful creations are in one place, there is magic surely to be made. As a new family of four authentic moments of their new chapter together unfolded as the sun was setting beyond the horizon.

To the mamas who might feel a touch of overwhelm as you discover your new normal with a newborn and a toddler, rest assured – this beautiful chaos is the beginning of your heart growing in ways you didn’t know was possible. While you are back to the days of a fragile newborn always in your arms, this time you have a toddler that is full of endless curiosity and gives you giggles that have become your favorite noise. These photos will also be different than your first newborn photos, but they are just as special as there is more connection and more love to be photographed!

Mama radiated a calm but nurturing, and playful energy. While holding her newborn baby boy close to her, she effortlessly juggled the tender moments of cuddling with her little one and indulging the boundless curiosity of her toddler. Her love for this new chapter of her life spoke through her – a testament to the incredible capacity of a mama’s heart to embrace both the new and the familiar.

Not to be outdone, dad matched the energy of his always-on-the-go toddler. He engaged in play with his energetic toddler, creating laughter and joy. His genuine connection with his wife as he smiled at her beauty. In the midst of the the playfulness this session brought, he always stepped in to be there in support of his wife, round up his toddler, cuddle with his newborn.

And while the toddler was the energy of the session, I made sure to keep the focus on his new baby brother. Every interaction was to get the family together through a sense of connection – whether that be playful moments or tender moments. As a mama of multiple littles, I myself want a good variety of both the new and the old, combined and separated. I promise to always spend our time together photographing what is most important to you and to capture the memories you never want to forget.
