There’s something truly magical about family photo sessions, especially when they unfold in the outdoors amidst nature’s beauty. This Franklin family session was no exception. Our time together was on a sunny evening in May and it was nothing short of amazing. The park, with its lush green trees and scenic walking trails, was the perfect location for capturing timeless memories.

The family, consisting of a mama, dad, and their three children was a night to remember. Our time together was spent playing games, exploring the park, and letting moments naturally unfold to create images to be cherished for a lifetime. Each interaction, each laugh, and each tender moment was beautifully genuine, creating a collection of photographs that truly reflect the essence of this wonderful family.

Franklin is known for a number of charming parks making it an ideal location for a Franklin family session. On this particular evening, the weather was perfect — sunny with a gentle breeze, and the park was filled with the colors of spring. The green trees, grassy hill side, and wildflowers created the perfect backdrop and the walking trails offered a variety of spots for our session.

One of the greatest advantages of outdoor sessions is that families tend to relax and interact more naturally. The casual environment helps everyone feel at ease, leading to genuine smiles and laughter. Without the constraints of a studio, family members can engage in activities they enjoy, creating organic moments that truly reflect their relationships. Whether it’s playing games, exploring nature, or simply enjoying a walk together, these interactions result in candid, heartfelt photos.

We started our time together a few hours before sunset which creates the most beautiful glow to your family photos. To start this Franklin family session, I encouraged the family to engage in activities that would allow their genuine connections be seen. And while I believe in capturing candid moments, I also guided the family into a few posed shots because no gallery is complete without the traditional everyone-looking-at-the-camera-and-smiling photograph.

Reflecting on the session, I am grateful for all of the families that I get to photographer — it’s not something that I ever take lightly. Seeing genuine love and connection unfold in front of my camera time after time is one of the most rewarding things that I get to be apart of.
